We usually have three Clerks from the day after Memorial Day to mid-August.  In recent years, our Clerks have come from local schools including Rutgers, Seton Hall, Fordham, Cardozo and New York Law School.  Many of our lawyers have participated in the Summer Clerkship Program, which has been an important aspect of firm tradition for decades. The Summer Clerkship Program integrates the Clerks into the fabric of Firm life.  They participate in nearly every function of our practice, from initial client interview through succeeding phases of the clients matter to final resolution.  The Clerks prepare for and attend depositions, draft interrogatories and discovery demands.  They also prepare and/or respond to motions.  They attend trials, sit at the counsel table, and assist in the preparation of trial briefs, supplemental memoranda and requests to charge to the jury. A unique aspect of the Summer Clerkship Program is the position of œClerk of the Clerks.   This is a rotating position filled by each of the law clerks. Inputs patient information into the computer system and ensures the accuracy of the input.  4.  Obtains necessary signatures of consent from patient and explains patient rights to the patient.  5.  Arranges for or escorts patient to the assigned room.  6.  Collects monies from patient and issues receipts.  7.  Courteously answers telephone calls and responds to all inquiries or routes calls to appropriate station.  8.  Balances cash drawer and forwards deposit to cashier department daily.  Responsible for incurring no out of balance.  9.  Performs other tasks related to the admission and registration of patients and the maintenance of department policy.  10.  Completes Incident Reports and submits them in a timely manner as appropriate for patient, visitor and employee incidents &amp; errors.
